We recommend that you practise BMAT, because of its nature, you cannot 'cram' for it; basic familarity with a test's
question and answer style always helps.
This condensed specimen paper contains short versions of all three sections of the BMAT, to allow
candidates to
familiarise themselves with the BMAT before going on to try the full length specimen papers below.
This section tests the following aptitudes and skills: problem solving,
understanding argument, data analysis and inference.
This section is based on core knowledge of Double Science and Higher Mathematics at Key Stage 4 (see
www.nc.uk.net), and tests the capacity
to apply it at the level expected from BMAT applicants.
This section tests the capacity to develop ideas and to
communicate them effectively in writing, rather than testing knowledge.
Details of other resources that may help you prepare for the BMAT test can be
found in the
Preparation section.
